In 2016, the cyber cell also took Roshan’s laptop and phone for investigation in Kangana Ranaut’s case.
Ranaut sent hundreds of emails to Hrithik accusing her of harassing him. Following a preliminary investigation, police recorded Ranaut’s statement following the conclusion that emails were allegedly sent from her ID. However, Ranaut has refused to send an email to Roshan.
Kangana Ranaut publicly called Hrithik Roshan her “silly-ex” who was no longer in her life, a chapter she closed. However, Hrithik said that when he received several emails from Kangana, he did not reply to them until he publicly called her a “silly ex”, after which he realized that dirty laundry in public was able to.
After calling him a “silly-ex”, Hrithik sent Kangana a legal notice in which he apologized, including a legal notice stating that he was not a “dull, stupid teenager” and “Everything that happened between us was” between two agreeing adults. “
After exchanging several emails, Hrithik said that Kangana’s sister Rangoli suggested that sending any mail to Kangana could be fraudulent and said that it should be investigated.

Hrithik Roshan followed it up with a legal notice, demanding a public apology from his former co-actor. Kangana Ranaut refused to apologize, claiming that the two were romantically involved in 2014. He sent a counter-notice to Hrithik Roshan asking him to withdraw his notice or face a criminal case.
Hrithik Roshan’s legal notice alleges mental harassment by Kangana Ranaut. It claimed that he had sent her 1,439 emails, which she never responded to, in addition to telling people in the film industry that they were in a relationship. It suggested that whoever was in contact with Kangana Ranaut was pretending to be Hrithik Roshan.
In December 2020, the case, which was earlier in the Mumbai Police Cyber Cell, was transferred to the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) at the request of Hrithik Roshan’s lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani.
