Nayanthara did not say yes yet to Atlee’s Shah Rukh Khan Starrer

Nayanthara

There are rumors all over the internet that Tamil superstar Nayanthara will make her Bollywood debut in Tamil director Atlee’s first Hindi film against Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. The name of the film is believed to be Sankee and it is not a remake of the Tamil film, but an original one.

Nayantara (born at Diana Mariam Kurian; on 18 November 1984) is an Indian actress who appears mainly in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema. Nayanthara was the only female South Indian actress to make it to Forbes India’s “Celebrity 100” list in 2018 with a net worth of Rs 15.17 crore. Nayanthara is often referred to as the female superstar of South Indian cinema. Nayantara has acted in more than 75 South Indian movies. Nayanthara made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Manassinakkare in 2003 with Jayaram and she made her debut in Tamil cinema Ayya in (2005) and in Telugu with Lakshmi (2006). Both were successful.

So far it is rumored that Nayanthara, who is only known as the female superstar of Tamil cinema, will make her debut in Atlee’s film opposite Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. Attlee and Nayanthara collaborated on Bigil in a football film starring Vijay in Tamil in 2018.

However, it does not look like she will jump at the chance to go to Pan India without believing in her role. Sources in the Tamil industry have termed the news a “jumping the gun”.

Nayanthara’s growing popularity as an actress saw her cast in female-centric films, a genre that is rarely considered in South Indian cinema.

A director of which she worked for Nayanthara told, “She is in no hurry to do a Bollywood film. Of course, she would do one. But the role is to justify his presence. She hasn’t said yes to Atlee’s project. I think he’s still writing it. Once he completes the script, only then we will know whether her presence is justified by the script or not. Till then it is just a rumor and not a piece of news.”

While in college, Nayantara worked part-time as a model. She was spotted by director Sathyan Anthikkad, who saw some of her modeling assignments and approached her to play the lead role in his film Manassinakkare (2003). Although she initially turned down the offer because she had no interest in films, she eventually gave up and agreed to do “just one film”. Manassinakkare had high financial success and continued to receive acting offers. In 2004, she co-starred with Mohanlal in both her releases, Natturajavu by Shaji Kailas, and Fazil’s psychological thriller Vismayathumbathu; When she played the role of sister in the former hero’s adoption, she later played the role of a ghost. Her performance in Vismayathumbathu was particularly praised, with critics claiming that she “stole the thunder with a role supported by his author”, and “revealed the film”. Nayantara also acted in Thaskara Veeran and Rappakal.
