Netflix write emails to customers after Warner Bros. deal: Netflix’s deal with OTT platform Warner Bros. has become a hot topic. Customers are understandably confused by the deal. Now, Netflix itself has issued a clarification on this matter.
Netflix, the world’s leading streaming company, sent an important email to its 300 million users late last night, clarifying that their experience will remain unchanged for the time being. The email came shortly after Netflix’s historic 6.47 trillion rupees (about $1.6 trillion) acquisition of Warner Bros., which includes prominent companies like HBO, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. Studios, and has caused a stir worldwide.

Netflix Assures Subscribers
An email from the company clearly states that, for now, Netflix and Warner Bros. services will operate separately. The deal is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals. Netflix said that any plans, additions or changes to content will be disclosed in a timely manner. Guidelines posted on Netflix’s help center also make it clear that there will be no changes to subscription plans, and Warner Bros. content will not be transferred to Netflix immediately.
Tough questions raised about the deal
People are constantly expressing their opinions on this acquisition. Major names in American politics are speaking out against the deal. Senator Elizabeth Warren called it an anti-monopoly threat. Representative Pramila Jayapal warned that it would lead to higher prices, increased advertising, and a possible decline in content quality. Republican leader Mike Lee said the deal was a warning to antitrust enforcers around the world. The deal has raised concerns among multiplex theatre owners not only abroad but also in India.
Netflix claims:
After the deal was announced, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said in an investor call that the partnership will be pro-consumer, pro-producer and pro-innovation for the industry. He said that the two companies coming together will help provide a better entertainment experience. If the deal is approved, Netflix will have access to big franchises like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and the Friends universe, which could be the biggest USP of the OTT platform going forward, but the change is unlikely to happen before December 2026.
Netflix sent a message
The company’s letter stated that for now, both platforms will continue to operate in their current formats, and subscribers will be able to watch everything as usual on their existing plans. Netflix stated that it will continue to provide its viewers with even better options for movies, series, games, and live content in the future.
