Ranveer Singh will soon be seen in the film Dhurandhar. In this film, he will play the role of Major Mohit Sharma. Let’s find out who Major Mohit Sharma was, the man who infiltrated Pakistan and killed terrorists.
Who was Major Mohit Sharma, on whom the “Dhurandhar” movie is based?
In the Indian Army’s valour, there are some names etched in its history, whose very mention makes one swell with pride. One of those names is Major Mohit Sharma, a courageous Special Forces commando whose courage and ingenuity have strengthened India’s security apparatus. Now, director Aditya Dhar is bringing the story of his extraordinary life and secret missions to the big screen in “Dhurandhar,” starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The saga of this immortal warrior of the country is not a movie story, but a story of reality that makes every Indian proud.
Major Mohit Sharma had entered the Pakistan-occupied areas and killed terrorists
Major Mohit Sharma is among the select few officers of the Indian Army who made a historic contribution to uprooting terrorism. During a highly classified operation in South Kashmir in 2004, he infiltrated Hizbul Mujahideen under the alias “Iftikhar Bhat” and won the trust of the enemy. His long beard, Kashmiri accent, and the story of a fictitious “slain brother” all made his undercover appearance so powerful that terrorists began to consider him their ally.
During this time, he gathered crucial information, including the Hizbul Mujahideen’s network, locations of their weapons, contacts, and future strategies. On one occasion, he is said to have even entered Pakistan-occupied territory, where he lived with terrorists and gathered very informative information from them. When his identity was suspected, he displayed extraordinary calmness and resourcefulness, turning the situation to his advantage. Seizing the opportunity, he successfully completed his mission by killing two dangerous terrorists.

Major Mohit Sharma, despite being injured, killed four terrorists
An operation in the Kupwara district of North Kashmir in 2009 forever cemented him among the ranks of immortal martyrs. Terrorists lying in ambush in the dense forest suddenly opened fire on an Indian squad. Four soldiers were injured, but Major Mohit, without caring for his own life, charged into the hail of bullets. He carried two wounded soldiers to safety and then, despite being shot in the chest, killed four terrorists. This bravery was not a part of a story, but the true valour of a true soldier of India.
