Panchayat 2 fame Raghubir Yadav is a film, television, and stage actor from India who was born on 25 June 1957 in Jabalpur, India. Raghbir spent the early years of his life in Jabalpur, a town in Madhya Pradesh. He ran away from home and joined the Parsi Theater Company at the age of fifteen. He later moved to Delhi, where he enrolled at the National School of Drama (NSD) in 1977, graduating with a degree in stagecraft.
Raghubir Yadav is a person endowed with many skills, such as; Raghubir is also a great singer, musician, and set designer. He is best known for his debut film “Massey Sahib”, released in 1985.

He made his film debut with Massey Sahib (1985), in which he played the lead role. Incidentally, he has never won a National Award but has won two international awards for Best Actor for Massey Sahib, FIPRESCI Critics Award, Venice Film Festival, 1986, and Silver Peacock, IIFI, 1987. The film also features famous writer and social activist, Arundhati Roy.
He appeared in several milestone films in the decades to come. The three films in which he acted have received Academy Award nominations for Best Foreign Language Film (Salam Bombay!, Lagaan, and Water). Raghubir Yadav is the only Indian actor to receive the Silver Peacock Best Actor Award at the International Film Festival of India. His most admirable role was as a drug addict in “Chillum” in Salaam Bombay! (1988).
