She carved a distinct niche for herself in the South Indian film industry thanks to her innocent smile, brilliant acting, and a string of hit movies; however, the personal life of this actress—who had scaled the heights of on-screen success—became increasingly overshadowed by pain, controversy, and health issues.

The sudden death of Aarthi Agarwal at the age of just 31 shocked the entire industry. Actress Aarthi Agarwal was born in New Jersey, USA. When she was 14, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty invited her to dance onstage at an event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Impressed by her spectacular dance performance, Shetty told her father that he should make his daughter a Bollywood actress.

Debut in the glamour world at 16 and a rift in a relationship

According to reports, Aarthi Agarwal made her film debut at the age of just 16. She appeared in the Bollywood film Paagalpan, released in 2001. Later that same year, she made her debut in the South Indian film industry with the movie Nuvvu Naku Nachav.

Aarthi worked in several superhit South Indian films and shared the screen with many major stars. She acted alongside famous actors such as Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, Jr. NTR, and Prabhas. Notably, over the course of her career, she appeared in around 25 films across Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema.

Several reports claim that Aarthi Agarwal even attempted suicide in 2005 following a rift in her relationship with co-star Tarun. This news had caused a stir in the industry at the time.

Aarthi Agarwal had undergone liposuction surgery

According to reports, she was suffering from obesity and had undergone liposuction surgery just a month before her death. The procedure was performed to remove excess fat from her body. Although a doctor in Hyderabad had advised her against the surgery, she did not heed the advice. It is said that her health began to deteriorate following the procedure, and she started experiencing breathing difficulties.

It is worth noting that she was admitted to a hospital in New Jersey for liposuction surgery and was scheduled to undergo another major operation; however, her condition began to deteriorate after the first surgery, and she passed away suddenly while undergoing treatment.

Obesity and lung disease claimed Aarthi’s life

Following Aarthi Agarwal’s death, her manager informed news agencies that she had been battling obesity and a lung condition, for which she was undergoing treatment. She suffered a heart attack during this period and passed away. It is worth noting that Aarthi Agarwal had previously approached a doctor in Hyderabad for the surgery, but he had flatly refused to operate.

Weight gain caused by depression

It is said that she had stopped receiving film offers, which led her into depression. She was also distressed by financial constraints. Consequently, she began gaining weight, and this obesity led to her battling several health issues. Seeking relief from this situation, she decided to undergo surgery, but it was this very procedure that cost her her life.

Aarthi Agarwal passed away at the age of 31

Aarthi Agarwal unexpectedly passed away in New Jersey in 2015. She was only 31 years old at the time. Reports indicate that her film ‘Ranam-2’ had been released just a day before her death; the film proved to be a superhit.
