Legendary actor Dilip Kumar died “breathed his last early on Wednesday” (July 7) after a long and protracted illness.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar died (passed away) in Mumbai on Wednesday morning after a long illness. He was 98 years old.

Dilip Kumar breathed his last at 7.30 am at Khar Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. Behind him is his wife Saira Bano who is a veteran actress herself.

Announcing the sad news, Dilip Kumar’s family friend Faisal Farooqi tweeted from the actor’s official Twitter handle, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. DILIP KUMAR WAS HOSPITALISED TWICE IN A MONTH

Dilip Kumar was admitted to the hospital twice in June. He was rushed to the hospital on June 6 complaining of shortness of breathing. Dilip Kumar was discharged on June 11 after being diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion and receiving appropriate treatment.

However, he had similar respiratory problems on June 30 and was admitted to the hospital again.
