After the success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, the fans were very excited when the director of the film, Aditya Dhar announced the next film with his actor Vicky, The Immortal Ashwatthama. The theme of the film was such that everyone started showing interest in it. The film was a science fiction film inspired by the story of Ashwatthama, a character from Mahabharata. Ronnie Screwvala and Jio Studios were producing the film. Sara Ali Khan entered the film as a heroine. Before Corona, Vicky and Sara Ali Khan had also started work on the film and started preparing for the film.
But after Corona, all the equations of this film have changed. If reports are to be believed, the producer of the film, Jio Studios, was not happy with the film’s star cast. Sara Ali Khan left the film and Samantha Ruth Prabhu was signed in the film. But now according to the latest reports, Jio Studios has a problem with the hero of the film, not the heroine.
250 crores are too much for Vicky Kaushal, Producer needs a bigger star than Vicky, will be replaced in Ashwatthama?
Vicky is not right for a big budget
Actually, Ashwatthama’s budget is believed to be Rs 250 crores. When the preparation of the film started, its budget was believed to be 150 – 180 crores, but as the film is increasing, its budget reached around 250 crores and Jio Studio is not ready to put such a big budget on Vicky Kaushal. He believes that Vicky’s shoulders are still not strong enough to pull a 250-crore film alone.
Want a bigger star than Vicky
Jio Studios is constantly putting pressure on the director of the film, Aditya Dhar, that if he wants to make this film, then he will have to get a better and bigger star cast. Meaning that the character of superhero Ashwatthama in the film requires a bigger star than Vicky Kaushal. Aditya Dhar, who is a close friend of Vicky, is not ready for this at the moment. He trusts Vicky completely and does not want anyone other than Vicky to do this film.
Have proved stardom with Uri
Significantly, Vicky has done wonders with Aditya Dhar’s debut film Uri The Surgical Strike. This film is kept on the list of the highest-grossing films in the history of Bollywood. Uri made a profit of 876 percent at the box office. Released in 2019, the budget of this film was only 25 crores and it earned 244 crores at the box office.
Luka Chuppi Part 2
This year, Vicky has wrapped up the shooting of Laxman Utekar’s eponymous romantic comedy film in Indore with Sara Ali Khan. The film is believed to be presented as the next part of the franchise of Kartik Aaryan – Kriti Sanon starrer superhit film Luka Chuppi and is currently being called Luka Chuppi Part 2. The shooting of this film had already started before the marriage of Vicky and Katrina Kaif.
Betting on big films
After Uri, Vicky Kaushal has become a box office star. Uri was Vicky Kaushal’s first hit film. With this film, Vicky entered the 100 and 200-crore clubs at the same time. There is a lot of betting on big films in the coming time. On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal has a plethora of projects. While Vicky Kaushal has huge projects, on one hand, he also has a line of light films. Vicky Kaushal has replaced Varun Dhawan in Shashank Khaitan’s film Mr Lele. The name of this movie is Govinda Naam Mera.
Sam Manekshaw biopic
Vicky is also the hero of Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Manekshaw biopic. It is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and the film is written by Bhavani Iyer of Raazi fame and Shantanu Srivastava of Badhaai Ho fame. In the first look of the film, Vicky looks similar to Sam Manickshaw. The name of the film will be Sam Bahadur. Vicky Kaushal was supposed to play the role of Aurangzeb in Karan Johar’s next film Takht. However, when this film will start, whether it will be made now or not, no one has any information about this at the moment. Apart from this, Ashwatthama has also been postponed.
Had left 83
Vicky Kaushal also auditioned for the film when 83 was about to start. Vicky Kaushal auditioned for the character of Mohinder Amarnath in the film. Kabir Khan had also finalized Vicky for this role and he was also very excited to work with Vicky. But after Vicky Kaushal’s film, Raazi was released and Vicky’s work was well received after which Vicky did not want to appear in the second lead in the film with Ranveer Singh. So Vicky left this film and this role came in the part of Saqib Saleem.
